Summary/Abstract: In the article, the author discusses the process of lustration in the Ukraine between 2014 and 2016. By using thorough analysis and investigating the historical context of introducing lustration reforms, the author proves that in the current political climate, lustration facilitates further consolidation of the democratic process in the Ukraine, despite the fact that negative effects – such as “wild lustration,” the lack of any significant change in the status quo as far as political power and government posts are concerned, etc. – cannot be fully eliminated.
