Summary/Abstract: The following paper concerns high school interpretations of selected poems by Kazimierz Przerwa-Tetmajer — poet of the Young Poland movement and the songs composed by Mieczysław Karłowicz based on these poems. The article shows how the 20th century artists expressed their mood, philosophy and existential angst characteristic of the fin de siècle. The article contains an analysis of their works and indicates the possibilities of integrating literature with music during a Polish language class in high school.
