Summary/Abstract: This article presents two scenarios of the Polish language classes for first‑year high school students devoted to the problem of interpersonal communication. These scenarios implement the idea of developing language competence skills in conjunction with interpretation of poetry. In the presented propositions, two poems of Wisława Szymborska: Na wieży Babel and Wszelki Wypadek were analysed. The scenarios of classes were prepared according to two strategies of teaching: emotional and problematic.
