Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the presentation of some original methods or those modified by the author, which, among the others, allow to study family networks, roles and family capitals. These concepts and their definitions are presented in the text. The article also includes a brief discussion of the data analysis methods used in the text. Qualitative research, constituting the empirical basis for the presented proposal, comes from 2000–2018. The research results and their interpretations selected as examples, allow to understand the cognitive benefits of using this methodology.
