Summary/Abstract: Parenting of non-heterosexual people shows a vastly diverse area due to various family-parental configurations and practices and their dynamic change over time. Hence, the decision to present the diversity of parenting narratives taking generation differences into account. In my presentation I will trace the experiences of being a parent told by the younger and older generation (45+), showing that the basic demarcation line that differentiates different formation baggage concerns the (im) possibility of implementing parental plans. The older generation either faced the inability to be a parent within a same-sex relationship or were forced to pursue their parenthood within a heterosexual relationship. On the other hand, the narrations of the younger generation might be described as stories about the possibilities of implementing plans within the relationship and dilemmas related to elections, as the emergence of the latest reproductive techniques has widened the possibilities of becoming a parent. In the text, I analyse non-heteronormative parenting, showing on the one hand its diversity, and on the other, an intergenerational community of experiences and practices associated with a specific political and legal context, cultural and social norms of gender, sexuality and family.
