Summary/Abstract: In recent years, the issue of voluntary childlessness has been increasingly often present in Polish newspapers, social discourse and scientific research. This text is an analysis of relevant media discourse and shows that voluntary rejection of parenthood raises strong emotions. The discourse reveals a dichotomous division between childless people and parents. Voluntarily childless people fight for their right to individual choices. Parents accuse those voluntarily childless of selfishness, love of comfort and infantilism. The language of the discourse about voluntary childlessness seems slightly more gentle than it was a few years ago. Both sides agree that it is better not to be a parent than to be a bad one, acting against oneself.
