Summary/Abstract: This article aims to present the various aspects of the Russian-Georgian war. In the first part was presented the historical background necessary to identify the internal situation of Georgia and separatism in the area. Then, the determinants of war were taken into consideration. The author’s intention was to present the widest possible context factors that contributed to the commencement of hostilities. The section also presents the course of the war. The article concludes with an attempt to determine the implications of the war.
