Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to show in what way authorial annotations to mock-heroic narrative poems shape the writer-reader relations by emphasizing diverse forms of creative activity of the subject of the poem, with particular attention to the process of writing. The topic of considerations is the role of annotations in six poems of this genre: Organy by Tomasz Kajetan Węgierski, Heautoumastix by Jacek Przybylski, Urywek z bicza kręconego w Krakowie by Franciszek Ksawery Dmochowski, Suflerois by Józef Franciszek Królikowski, Gorset by Kajetan Jaksa Marcinkowski, and Klub Piśmienniczy by Tymon Zaborowski. The variety of functions of annotations in each of these poems, as emphasized in this article, is seen as a manifestation of the variety of forms of a mock-heroic poem, and also – more broadly – as an illustration of the character of transformations in the Enlightenment epic.
