Summary/Abstract: The specific form of experiencing God's mercy is the Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation. That is what John Paul II repeated many a time and what, in the bygone year, Pope Francis called to mind in his conversation with Andrea Tornielli («Mercy is God’s Name»). In our homeland such an example, quite little‑known, is undoubtedly pr. T. Fedorowicz, the perennial chaplain of the Institution for the Blind in Laski and the chaplain of the Franciscan Missionaries of the Helpers of the Cross, as well as the confessor and spiritual confidant of Karol/Charles Wojtyła, later Pope John Paul II. The following article is an attempt to remind of this charismatic confessor and spiritual leader and to recapture his reflections concerning the sacrament of forgiveness. The present reflection will consist of two parts. The first one will try to show confession in pr. T. Fedorowicz’s articles/speeches. The other one will focus on the confessor's most important characteristics (on the basis of the available correspondence between John Paul II and pr. T. Fedorowicz, as well as on the basis of the interview with pr. T. Fedorowicz).
