Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to show the multi-identity of human nature and emphasize the fact that identity is not a constant and permanent construct but it is a complex of altering identifications. The issue has been presented based on a range of everyday dishes and a language of recipes of the inhabitants and individuals born in a Polish village Ćelinovac in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The group arrived to the mentioned area during so-called planned colonization, which took place under Habsburg rule in the end of the nineteenth and in the beginning of the twentieth centuries. Despite progressive acculturation, the community defines itself as Polish. The scope of the analysis includes following dishes: pirogi, kluski (noodles), mamaliga and pita. The analyzed material has been collected during field research conducted in Ćelinovac in Bosnia and Herzegovina and in Jesenice in Slovenia since 2011.
