Summary/Abstract: The scope of this paper is to describe trends of selected indicators of the insurance market in the Czech and Slovak Republic. Results of this partial topic within the research project „Impact of selected public policies on regional development in the Slovak and Czech Republic“ will be used for mutual comparison of insurance market development in the Czech and Slovak Republic and thus the understanding of differences in the interactions between insurance sector and regional development in both countries.
