Summary/Abstract: The article briefly presents a new methodological proposal for the description of Old Polish syntax, based on new principles and forming different aims. Those aims are connected with identifying the most important trends in syntactic change and their interpretation. The article provides an overview of the theory more comprehensively advocated in the authors’ book Składnia średniowiecznej polszczyzny (The Old Polish Syntax), published in 2015.
