Summary/Abstract: The structures of Social and Solidarity Economy play a major and innovative role in socio-economic development, in a way integrated in the territory and in line with the new global issues of sustainability. In France, the textile waste reprocessing sector provides a good example, with the particular case of the association “Le Tri d’Emma”, which was founded in the Roanne area in 2010 by Emmaus-France, around a sustainable development project. Such solidarity and citizenship initiatives open the way to a new theoretical framework that is an alternative to neoliberalism: “deliberalism”.
