Summary/Abstract: This paper aims to study the effect of the corruption on economic growth and the composition of government spending. For this purpose, a panel data model based on a sample of six countries in the region of North Africa was used during the period 2000–2014. After data analysis two important results were found. The first one confirms the existence of a negative effect between the corruption and economic growth, and the second shows that the corruption does not affect government spending.
