Summary/Abstract: Technological change that alters the root sources of tourism demand also intervenes at the level of supply by altering the production functions of goods, services and functional systems. All these evolutions towards the society of knowledge push the tourists to show an increased sensitivity for the ecological balance and the quality of the environment. Problem: For the Ouarzazate region, it is legitimate to consider the existence of an optimum to reconcile the five key metaphors of ecotourism: valorization of environmental conservation, equitable contribution to Economic development, taking into account and responding to the needs of host communities, and generating a genuine and responsible new tourism experience. Objectives: Implement the various ecotouristic optimum indicators: environmental, human, economic, patrimonial and cultural, specific to the Ouarzazate region; Propose calculation methods to operationalize these indicators through an empirical study of the Ouarzazate region. Interest: Making ecotourism research strongly permeated by the knowledge economy and highly useful for sustainable development, which will undoubtedly facilitate the task of decision makers and guide their actions in the right direction.
