Summary/Abstract: An attempt is made to clarify the concept of “active shooter” on the basis of analyzed attacks for the period 2000-2012 in different parts of the world. Referenced to this, the practical experience of some foreign police services related to the prevention and counteraction to an “active shooter” has been studied and analyzed.
