Summary/Abstract: The article describes the role of educating adults in globalised society, changes in educating adults in the Polish system of education obligatory since 1 September 2012 and adapting vocational and continuing education to standards that oblige in the European Union. The article also discusses issues of obtaining, complementing and gaining new professional qualifications in non-school forms by adults in accordance with changes in vocational education trades classification.
