Summary/Abstract: This paper deals with the Slovak and Polish religious poetry. Two poets-priests of each country are presented – Gorazd Zvonický as the Slovak author and Jan Twardowski as the Polish one. Even though their lives as well as most of their works are different, both of them used the motif of the Mother of God in their poems in a similar way. The paper presents concrete examples and quotes of the poets, so the similarities can be seen.
