Summary/Abstract: This study explores communication challenges experienced by employees across age groups in digitally supported, fast-paced team environments in eastern Croatia. Using an online survey distributed across public and private organizations in the region, the research explores how older and younger employees perceive communication through digital tools, the demands of rapidly changing teamwork, and language barriers (both native and foreign language) that arise when collaborating with foreign colleagues or (inter)national companies. Special emphasis is placed on the role of English language proficiency in ensuring clear instructions, effective coordination, and confidence in cross-cultural interactions. By focusing on organizations in eastern Croatia, the study provides localized insights into the specific needs and capacities of a regional workforce. The findings aim to identify practical support mechanisms, such as targeted English-language training, improved digital communication practices, and tailored professional development, that can enhance collaboration and inclusivity in mixed-age teams.
