Summary/Abstract: Starting from the history of the appearance of the Romanian patristic collection Fathers and Church Writers, the present study attempts to emphasise, on the one hand, the contribution of Saint Priest Confessor Dumitru Stăniloae within this collection, and on the other hand, to offer Romanian readers some reading suggestions for the footnotes that the translator introduces within the translated volumes, along with a thematic and onomastic index. We believe that such a study, beyond being a useful working tool regarding the work of Saint Priest Confessor Dumitru Stăniloae, will contribute even more to the understanding and value of footnotes within various works.
