Summary/Abstract: The introductory part of the paper defines the framework of analysis and provides certain methodological notes. The importance and character of the problem of climate change is emphasized, as well as the importance of the issue of financing activities in the field of climate change. The first part of the paper is dedicated to the analysis of global international agreements in the field of climate change. Special attention is paid to the solutions related to the financing of mitigation and adaptation activities. The second part of the paper presents the existing mechanisms of financing activities in the field of climate change at the global level, using the example of the Green Climate Fund. The relevance for the Republic of Serbia is emphasized. The third part of the paper points to some challenges in the existing system of international legal regulations in the field of climate change, including the application of instruments for financing activities in this area, using the example of the Green Climate Fund. The main goal of this paper is to review the state of international legislation concerning financing of activities in the field of climate change.
