Summary/Abstract: The article presents a preliminary attempt to develop a typology of love as represented in traditional Korean narratives. Based on the analysis of several dozen source texts in English and Polish, eight main categories of love were identified. Each was described with reference to narrative examples and interpreted as an expression of emotional insight into values. The proposed typology is provisional and open-ended, and its further refinement requires more in-depth research into both the linguistic and cultural dimensions of the concept of love.
