Summary/Abstract: The paper discusses results of research on the scientific edition of the legacy of Ludwik Weeber, a veteran of the 1863 Uprising. The legacy consists of diaries, fragments of memoirs concerning Weeber’s participation in the January Uprising and dedicated to the veteran’s ancestors, as well as personal documents from family collections. Before the Uprising, Ludwik Weeber was a commissioner at the Governorship in Lviv. During the 1863 Uprising, he fought in the units of Leon Czechowski, Antoni Jeziorański, Karol Krysiński, and Kajetan Cieszkowski-Ćwiek. In Cieszkowski-Ćwiek’s unit, he served as an aide-de-camp, mainly managing the unit’s office. Weeber’s legacy documents his life path, family origins and history, and finally his interests in hunting, forestry, and hunting weapons. It will therefore be a comprehensive documentation of his life and activities not only during the January Uprising, but also his post-Uprising activities, both within the milieu of 1863 veterans and in Lviv organisations and associations.
