Summary/Abstract: The history of source editions on the January Uprising in Lithuanian historiography is shorter compared to Polish historiography by at least several decades. Its first stage is dominated by sporadic publications in emigre periodicals. Academic-level editions came in the 1920s and never developed beyond an initial phase in the interwar period. The educational current prevailed, with particular focus on the collection and publication of personal accounts. Plans of issuing a separate publication of personal accounts did not come to fruition. Source editions which have appeared after the restoration of the independent Lithuanian state are fragmentary and rather heterogeneous. As in the past, the focus is on popular editions, particularly Lithuanian translations of previously issued sources. The edition process is not being coordinated. All this leads to the conclusion that a tradition of source editing for the January Uprising has not yet fully developed within Lithuanian historiography.
