Summary/Abstract: The article examines the figure of the 'great initiate' as a symbol of change in Tadeusz Miciński’s novel 'Nietota. The Secret Book of the Tatras'. The analysis focuses on Mag Litwor, whose spiritual journey embodies the process of initiation that integrates Christ-like and Luciferian elements while drawing upon Western, Far Eastern, and Slavic traditions of Polish culture. At the root of this inner transformation lies the recognition of what is repressed in the collective unconscious. Mag’s purpose is not limited to individual enlightenment but extends to supporting the Polish community on its path toward renewal and national freedom. The figure of the 'great initiate' is thus presented as a model of modernist transformation of both the individual and the nation.
