Summary/Abstract: In this article, it is analyzed the evolution and prospects of Romania's defense industry, highlighting aspects related to funding, current challenges, and opportunities for development in the medium and long term. Also, it is analyzed the national and European funding sources, including national budget allocations, European funds, and international partnerships, as well as their impact on modernization and military technologies, as well as technological innovation. In the context of geopolitical and economic challenges, the article highlights the importance of strategic investments, international collaborations, and innovation to strengthen the country's defense capacity and for to integrate into NATO's defense system. The result of the analysis will provide clues on the effects of national and European policies on the defense industry, as well as its adaptation to new technologies and security requirements. In light of the above, the conclusions of this article provide a comprehensive perspective on the future of Romania's defense industry and offer recommendations for stimulating growth and sustainability within it.
