Summary/Abstract: In this paper, the key question is: is anthropology a science? The answer is: at least one common feature, or similarity, among numerous and different individuals, societies and cultures is sufficient to make comparisons, that is, generalizations. If this similarity (or commonality) between peoples, societies and cultures would not exist, the essence also would not exist. If this is so, the senses would not recognize variety and differences, and all the science would cease to exist. ”All science would be needless if an appearance (of a thing) and its essence are the same“, argued Marx. Einstein confirmed: ”If the world would be really what it appears to be, we would not need science.“ Noticing (of a phenomenon) requires an attitude, understanding of its essence requires another: differences are noticeable, while similarities are thinkable.
