Summary/Abstract: The aim of this report is to appraise the last fifteen years of Croatian ethnology, with a special emphasis on scientific works that were created in response to ”history production“ connected with the breakdown of Yugoslavia. A special accent is put on individual (especially female) authorship that represents one of the main features of recent Croatian ethnology. This genre is specific in many ways: the way of writing, thematic and methodological choices and authorization of ethnographic reality are just a few of its salient characteristics. The question of authorship, in the light of who can represent whom problem, is being discussed through controversial dialog and one possible reading of these manuscripts.
