Summary/Abstract: The report examines the economic aspects of national security, with emphasis on the financing of the defense industry and the role of investments in the military sphere in connection with the increasingly serious escalation of various crises worldwide. Against the background of global geopolitical realities and increasingly obvious security deficits, an answer is sought to the question – “are the increase in military budgets and the growth of the capacity of the defense industry a means of deterrence or a catalyst for further tension”. Analysed are the real opportunities and the place that the country should occupy in making decisions that will be of crucial importance not only for the region, but also for the EU and its role in changing the world. The problems facing the economy and the need for flexible financial policies, mechanisms and instruments, as well as compliance with market principles and the implementation of qualitative revenue control are openly posed.
