Summary/Abstract: This report analyzes a number of aspects of personalized diplomacy, paying special attention to the actions undertaken during the first year of Trump’s second term as president of the United States in relation to finding a solution to the war in Ukraine. Even though under certain circumstances, as seen in the case of the Gaza war, the highly personal style of diplomacy seems to be working somewhat fine for Trump, the article argues that with regard to the Ukrainian crisis in particular it is proving not to be effective and is unlikely to move the needle (at least on its own) in terms of resolving the conflict.
