Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this report is to clarify the nature of the Black Lives Matter movement as a new social phenomenon, its mechanisms of mobilization and impact on society and political institutions in the context of contemporary social and political dynamics. The presentation is structured in three parts: a) emergence and ideological foundations of the movement; b) effectiveness and institutional responses; and c) international impact.
