Summary/Abstract: In this report, we present the main characteristics of the phenomena of “populism”, “national populism” and “authoritarian populism”. We make a synthesized overview of the historical forms of populism and distinguish left-wing form from right-wing populism. Finally, we present the data from the study “Authoritarian Populism Index 2024” and illustrate conclusions regarding to current dimensions of populism on a continental scale. We refer to the scientific and public appearance (in specialized media) of proven international and Bulgarian scientists and experts on the research topic.
