Summary/Abstract: The report traces the development of political concepts for cultural and historical heritage in the political agenda of Bulgaria since the Liberation until today. The applied research method is literary analysis. The analyzed literary sources represent a research corpus of cultural policy in our country. The policy for cultural and historical heritage is an integral part of state policy in the field of culture and due to this circumstance, most of the theoretical literature on the issue is focused on cultural policy. A substantive analysis and evaluation of the concepts have not been made, because the goal is to bring out the pillars in the construction of a working concept for the cultural and historical heritage of Bulgaria, as they are presented in the reviewed literature.
