Summary/Abstract: I agree with the thesis that the unity of the world depends to a great extent on whether it would be possible to elaborate a ‘common set of ideas and principles’ including a ‘common formulation of the rights of man.’ Hence the importance of effecting a reconciliation between the two apparently opposite conceptions of the rights of man—the Liberal and the Communist—in a higher synthesis. May the following reflections contribute to this important task.
