Summary/Abstract: This paper examines the economic roles that small Eurozone states play within the EU economy, focusing on their structural characteristics, comparative specializations, and responses to major shocks. Using mixed methods – comparative macroeconomic data analysis and qualitative case evidence – it highlights diverse pathways: FDI-led services, financial intermediation, industrial integration, etc. The study finds that EU integration amplifies both constraints and buffers; institutional agility and sectoral positioning determine resilience and policy space.
