Summary/Abstract: Using the most recent survey data of firms located in Poland from the World Bank Enterprise Survey database, this study investigates the relationship between firms’ green initiatives, their degree of internationalization, and their firm capabilities. Building on international business theory, organizational learning theory, and the resource-based view of sustainable competitive advantage, it was hypothesized that firms with greater internationalization and internal resource capabilities would take more initiatives to transform their business models towards greener processes. After controlling for various firms’ characteristics, the estimated regression analysis results found a strong relationship between highly internationalized firms and greater firm initiatives towards green business practices. Regression analysis results also found firms with higher innovative, financial, and managerial capabilities to be more likely to undertake more significant green initiatives than other firms. However, the study sample's regression results found no significant relationship between firms’ green initiatives and their degree of digitalization or market power.
