Summary/Abstract: As the implementation of artificial intelligence rapidly expands into the routines of society, it is essential to understand the public's position towards its usage, adoption, and importance, especially in emerging cultures. This study assesses the general public’s awareness and perceptions of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its impact on daily life, productivity, and societal issues in Albania. The study employed a qualitative approach, using data collected from a total of 126 respondents via a structured online survey comprising 16 multiple-choice questions. The results reveal a strong presence and pervasive reach of artificial intelligence in the daily routines and lives of Albania's inhabitants. The main applications used range from ChatGPT to Face ID security platforms, as well as apps that facilitate government services to the population. The respondents regard the functionalities provided by AI-based applications as helpful in enhancing the overall quality of life. More specifically, they are perceived to promote task independence, decision making, improved communication with community members, and time efficiency. While the collected responses suggest that the implementation of AI in society has the potential to reduce social and economic inequalities, concerns are raised regarding its uneven adoption, potential job displacement, and issues related to data privacy and security.
