Summary/Abstract: The global transition toward a green economy demands a workforce equipped with green skills – competencies that enable workers to contribute to environmental sustainability across all sectors. This empirical research explores the current landscape of green skills in Albania, assessing both demand-side (employers) and supply-side (educational institutions and workforce) dynamics. Drawing on data from surveys, labor market statistics, and interviews with industry stakeholders, the study identifies key gaps between the skills required for green jobs and those currently available in the Albanian labor market. The findings reveal that while awareness of green competencies is growing, their integration into vocational education and training (VET), higher education, and employer practices remains limited. Regression analysis shows a positive correlation between green skills development and employment potential in emerging sectors such as renewable energy, sustainable construction, and environmental services. The study concludes with policy recommendations to mainstream green skills into Albania’s national education and employment strategies, emphasizing the importance of cross-sectoral coordination and EU-aligned policy frameworks to accelerate green workforce readiness.
