Summary/Abstract: This research article aims to analyze the value of investments in Albania, the financial alternatives and also the cryptocurrencies as a topic that has gained particular importance in the last decade due to rapid technological and financial developments. The main goal is to critically examine the potential of cryptocurrencies for Albanian investors, analyzing the benefits they can bring, but also the risks and limitations that accompany them in the Albanian economic and legal reality. In this context, the paper addresses not only the technical nature and functioning of cryptocurrencies, but also focuses on the current regulatory framework in Albania and the attitude of state institutions towards this phenomenon. The authors in this paper will include a comparison with international experiences from other developing countries or with similar economic structures, to draw lessons that can be adapted to the Albanian context. In conclusion, based on the analyses conducted, it is recommended that a sustainable balance be achieved between exploiting new opportunities and effectively managing the risks arising from this still volatile and developing market.
