Summary/Abstract: The report examines North Macedonia's EU integration through the prism of its bilateral relations with Bulgaria. Key elements are analyzed – the Treaty of Friendship, Good Neighborliness and Cooperation, the „Bulgarian Veto“, the „French Proposal“, the change of power in Skopje. The methodology uses multi-theoretical framework: neoliberal institutionalism, constructivism, and conflict theory. The aim of this complex approach is to analyze whether and how the European integration process can be used as a tool for resolving such a deep-seated bilateral political dispute. Finally, the paper reviews potential future scenarios and the prospects for Skopje's full membership.
