Summary/Abstract: The key to international relations lies in the interests on which relations between states, as well as international organizations and other interstate alliances and unions, are based. In its foreign policy, BiH has opted for membership in two alliances, the EU and NATO. Since expressing the intention to join the EU, progress has been made and BiH is currently a candidate country. Although BiH is legally committed to NATO membership, representatives of the Serb people from the BiH entity of RS are against membership in this alliance. Due to the standstill on the EU path and the inability to agree on NATO, BiH has found itself at a crossroad. In addition to the above, the paper will also address alternatives in foreign policy such as bilateral relations with Iran, Turkey and Saudi Arabia that can help BiH reach the ranks of great powers in achieving its interests. Although relations with these three states at the moment may seem “problematic”, BiH should look out for its interests, which should be emphasized in international relations. BiH has friendly relations with all three countries, which should grow into an alliance that will developin economic, political and military aspects. This paper will offer precisely the alternatives that BiH has in these countries, which will serve to approach the great powers through the above-mentioned countries.
