Summary/Abstract: This report aims to assess the policy for the development and implementation of intelligent transport systems (ITS) in Bulgaria in the context of sustainable urban mobility. The main tasks of the study include analyzing strategic and regulatory documents, tracking progress in the implementation of ITS solutions, and assessing the degree of alignment between national and European priorities in the field of intelligent mobility. The methodological approach is based on a comparative analysis of policies and strategic documents, as well as a review of good practices from EU Member States. The results show that Bulgaria has made significant progress in the digitization and integration of transport systems, but challenges remain in terms of inter-institutional coordination, data management, and limited private sector participation. In conclusion, the need for a more integrated approach to smart mobility policies, improved transport data exchange, and the promotion of public-private partnerships is emphasized. The study has practical applicability in the development and improvement of policies for the sustainable development of the transport system in urban environments.
