Summary/Abstract: The document assesses accessibility to public transport as an indicator for achieving the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, in particular SDG 11 - Sustainable Cities and Communities. Indicator - 11.2.1 Proportion of population with convenient access to public transport by gender, age and persons with disabilities aims to monitor the successful use and accessibility of public transport systems and the shift towards reduced reliance on private transport. This indicator is monitored by the proportion of the population that has convenient access to public transport. An overview of a sample metadata methodology is provided in the document. Challenges and opportunities for future development are discussed and a conclusion is drawn.
