Summary/Abstract: In the context of increasing global competition and economic instability, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) are emerging as a strategic instrument for achieving corporate sustainability and competitive advantage. They offer opportunities for market share expansion, risk diversification, and optimization of operational and financial resources, while simultaneously fostering innovation and accelerating organizational competitiveness. The effective implementation of M&A requires proactive change management. In this process, leadership plays a key role - by formulating a vision, promoting adaptability, and shaping a corporate culture capable of supporting integration processes. Strategic communication with internal and external stakeholders is a crucial factor in minimizing resistance to change and accelerating the realization of synergies that are critical to the success of such transactions. A project-based approach to M&A complements the management perspective by structuring transformation processes into clearly defined stages - from due diligence and valuation to integration, monitoring, and results optimization. The combination of managerial and project management practices ensures systematic control, transparency, and effective resource allocation, minimizing risks and accelerating the achievement of strategic objectives. Scholarly research emphasizes that corporate sustainability depends on the organization’s ability to balance external challenges arising from globalization with the internal stability of its processes and resources. In this context, M&A are viewed not only as financial instruments but also as complex management strategies that integrate leadership, strategic planning, and project discipline. In doing so, organizations build a sustainable foundation for growth, long-term competitiveness, and organizational flexibility capable of adapting to a dynamic global environment.
