Summary/Abstract: Mergers and acquisitions (M&A) are key strategic decisions for growth and competitiveness across various industries, including the dynamic software sector. However, these processes come with their own set of challenges that can significantly impact the success of such ventures. In the software industry, M&A activities are particularly complex due to the need to integrate diverse technological platforms, manage intellectual property, and merge different corporate cultures. The significance of these challenges is underscored by the high failure rates of M&A, often due to cultural clashes and integration difficulties, which can lead to the loss of key employees and financial difficulties. These issues highlight the critical need for effective project solutions to address and manage the complexities associated with M&A processes in the software industry. The aim of this report is to identify the key challenges faced by managers in software companies during M&A and to assess the need for project solutions that can facilitate successful integration and the achievement of strategic goals.
