Summary/Abstract: This paper explores the integration of Circular Economy (CE) principles into higher education, focusing on how universities can develop the competencies required for the green transition. Using evidence from the DECIDE Project in the Danube Region, the study analyzes case studies and business models from sectors such as food, batteries, textiles, packaging, and smart cities. The results highlight th importance of experiential learning, digital tools, and interdisciplinary curricula in preparing students for sustainable innovation and circular business models. The Moldovan context serves as a reference for identifying challenges such as limited training, inconsistent legislation, and financial constraints, while showcasing opportunities for cross-sector collaboration and innovation. The paper concludes by proposing a framework for embedding CE competencies into university programs, promoting a new generation of sustainability-oriented professionals.
