Summary/Abstract: Specialized texts of a country-specific and cultural nature, accompanied by lexical and grammatical exercises, provide concrete reference points in the process of mastering oral and written Russian speech and developing students' communicative competence. The variety of such texts formed the basis for the author's Russian language manual for Spanish language departments and the Russian language textbook for French language departments. The books described in the article may serve as a model for creation of similar teaching materials containing specific specialized vocabulary.
