Summary/Abstract: The accession of a new member state to a regional economic organization raises the question, whether and how this could change its export in the context of the dynamics on the international level, which have been abundant during the past eight decades of the United Nations (UN). On the background of the two anniversaries and the development of multilateralism, it is interesting to review the Bulgarian export to countries outside the European Union (EU). This publication is devoted to the topic and reviews data for the past twenty years since the signing of the Accession treaty. It explores the dynamics in two categories. The results are based on two types of comparisons and highlight variations. The paper can be thought-provoking for young economists, interested in the field of multilateralism, international trade or the accession to regional economic organizations.
