Summary/Abstract: The dogma of the Holy Trinity is the vital center of the Orthodox Church. This teaching is developed by Father Stăniloae through the prism of a dynamic personalism, as opposed to Western triadology, which is tributary to a static, depersonalized essentialism. God exists as a Trinity of Persons from eternity; this interpersonal love preceded creation and rose as a mystery or secret of existence above all dogmatic teachings. Through it, everything is explained, and without it, nothing can be explained. As a Trinity of Persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, God is an inexhaustible source of love, a communion of Persons in unity. Only as a Person or as a Trinity of Persons can God unite us with Himself in an unmistakable way without the risk of confusing us, of losing us in the divine through an impersonal essentialism of a pantheistic nature.
