Summary/Abstract: The article aims to present the orthodox vision of the end of human life and the world, especially now, in a world dominated by neo -pagan theories or Hollywood cinematic science fiction, which regard both matters as catastrophes that destroy life and creation, as sacred gifts of God. I have shown that in the Orthodox perspective we never talk about the destruction of the world, but about its renewal, transfiguration and spiritualization, and that the end of man presupposes the transition to immortality and not his destruction. The end of life and of the world, as well, represent subjects of meditation, but also concrete realities on which answers have been projected from a theological, philosophical and ideological perspective, from a diverse kind of directi ons. In the Christian world, unfortunately, with little denominational variations, a distorted view of them has been imposed, especially lately, shaped by popular religious literature, unarguably non-canonical, but also by the medieval Protestant view, wid ely publicized, generally, by the film industry.
